SPSF66

COVER FOR TERMINALS OCR / SF6 SWITCHES – TRANSFORMERS 72.5 kV

Design Features

The SPSF66 protector (1) is a multi-function device designed to cover energized parts present on the terminals of SF6 switches, OCR – NOJA – SIEMENS, etc. (2).

Lightning Arresters and Substation Bus Support Insulators, Switchgear Terminals, and Fuse Base Holders, as well as ANSI 57-2 and 57-3 type insulators – among others – whether with horizontal conductor exits (3) or perpendicular exits (4), and with angular deviations between them of 90° or even 135°, in networks up to 72.5 kV.

The silicone thickness used is 3.5 mm, providing the device with the required dielectric rigidity as well as long-lasting effective performance.

Installation

The SPSF66 cover has 5 outlets arranged at different heights and forming angles of 90°, 135°, and 180° between them, allowing it to be installed on practically any existing setup (3),(4). Its design includes 14 bolt-type closing points (pre-installed on each device), allowing for easy, manual installation without the need for tools.

Advantages

Measures have been taken to prevent moisture condensation, including an exclusive star-shaped drainage system at the bottom to eliminate any possibility of moisture accumulation.

Additionally, the conical design of the five outlets allows, with the use of silicone tapes and taking advantage of the SPSF66 cover’s shape, for adjustment over the conductor cover, performing a dual function: on one hand, it prevents water ingress, and on the other, it provides extra fixation, ensuring the device remains in place even under severe weather conditions.

The different conical outlets of the SPSF66 come factory-sealed, so only those that will be used are enabled, improving the device’s long-term performance by preventing the accumulation of dirt and insect nesting.

The inherent flexibility and nature of the material make it easy to adapt the device to the needs of each installation. Its double-cone PIN closing system allows for subsequent inspections without causing damage to the SPSF66.

The SPSF66 can also be used for other non-dielectric purposes, such as protecting the most exposed parts of substation equipment from bird droppings.
